I treat all forms of adult heart disease and work as an interventional cardiologist carrying out cardiac catheterization and coronary angioplasty. I have particular skills in the assessment of patients suffering with angina and acute coronary syndromes. I also specialize in the care of heart failure and heart rhythm abnormalities.
I have undertaken around 10,000 cardiac catheterizations and about 2,000 coronary angioplasties including out of hours primary angioplasties for ST elevation acute myocardial infarctions. I have implanted about 1500 permanent pacemakers both single and dual chamber systems.
Cardiology Department, The Royal Free Hospital is where I carry out angioplasty for my NHS patients. I also take part In the emergency angioplasty rota for the urgent treatment of patients suffering from heart attacks. Out patients are seen at Barnet Hospital.
At Highgate Hospital I mainly see private out patients living in the Highgate and Muswell Hill and adjacent area. Various tests including ECG, exercise testing and echocardiography can be arranged there.
This is where I see private outpatients in outer London. At The Wood Street clinic I also arrange a wide variety of specialist tests. These include electrocardiograms (ECG); treadmill exercise testing; echocardiography; heart rate / rhythm monitoring; blood pressure monitoring and blood tests.
This is where I look after private inpatients. The Wellington Hospital is the largest private cardiology facility in the country. I have been privilaged to work there for over twenty years. I carry out cardiac catheterisation, coronary agioplasty and implant pacemakers there. Together with senior Cardiac Surgeons I care for patients having heart bypass surgery (CABG) or heart valve replacement or repair.
This is where I see NHS patients. At Barnet I carry out a wide range of Cardiology investigations including coronary angiography and implantation of pacemakers. I treat patients who require angioplasty at The Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. Cardiac surgery is carried out at a number of major centres in London.
